The Company

My client is an award-winning boutique insight agency. They partner with Media Sector clients to deliver genuinely tangible and commercially focused insight. Currently, they are making huge waves within the insight industry, picking up multiple awards and nominations. As such, they are looking to steadily expand, incorporating inquisitive, smart and enthusiastic insight professionals. This is a great opportunity to come in at the Insight Director level, collaborating with the likes of Sky, Discovery and Viacom. You will be exposed to an array of exciting international projects, focusing on strategic studies and a handful of tactical ones.

The Role: Insight Director 

The agency believes that the best ideas come from working as a team, so you will be brought into a collaborative working atmosphere that adopts a relatively flat team structure. The team includes combined quantitative and qualitative researchers, data scientists and a graphic designer. As a Research Director, you will play a fundamental role within the team, taking ownership of media clients, developing new and existing client relationships, leading projects, and acting as a thought-leader within the business. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading bespoke projects: Synthesising internal data, conducting quantitative and qualitative studies, delivering strategic recommendations.
  • Working on a variety of projects: Looking at new channel development & propositioning, market landscaping & entry studies, programme concept testing and post-launch evaluation etc.
  • International projects: A large percentage of the work is international and there is some opportunity to travel.
  • Maintaining and building client relationships: Writing proposals, bringing in new business and developing commercial opportunities with existing clients.
  • Acting as a thought leader: Contributing to business strategy, encouraging best practice and developing junior members of staff.
  • Representing the company: Speaking at industry conferences and events.

The Candidate

The ideal Insight Director will have:

  • 6+ years’ experience of working within a mainstream or more specialist agency.
  • Strong knowledge of the media sector and experience of working with media clients.
  • You may have been working in a mixed quantitative and qualitative position or a purely quantitative one, but you must be open to using both methodologies. This agency is methodology agnostic and everyone gets involved in both disciplines.
  • Be commercially minded and have a track record of developing new and existing clients.
