VP Research | Quant | Financial Services B2B/B2C.

  • £100,000
A leading insights and research consultancy is seeking a senior leader to shape and grow its Financial Services practice within a well-established Brands division.
  • The opportunity

This role combines sector strategy, commercial accountability and research leadership. It’s an opportunity for an experienced FS research leader ready to step into broader vertical ownership — with real influence over growth, positioning and team direction.

    The Opportunity

Financial Services is a priority sector with strong existing foundations across brand tracking, ad hoc research and tech-enabled solutions. The business is evolving towards a more tech-first, insight-driven model, creating genuine scope to redefine and scale the FS proposition.

    You will:

    • Shape and execute the UK FS growth strategy (with EMEA ambition)

    • Take ownership of a significant revenue target

    • Lead and develop senior Research Directors and team members

    • Drive growth across tracking, ad hoc and product-led solutions

    • Build and deepen C-suite relationships across banking, insurance and wealth

    • Collaborate internationally to strengthen the global FS offer

    • Play a visible role in thought leadership and sector profile

  • About You

    • Senior-level experience in Financial Services research

    • Strong quant background (tracking + ad hoc) ideally B2B

    • Commercially minded, with experience contributing to or owning revenue

    • Comfortable leading senior clients and high-performing teams

    • Interested in shaping sector strategy, not just delivering projects

    • Open to innovation and tech-enabled insight approaches

This is not purely a delivery role. It’s designed for someone ready to take a more strategic, commercially accountable leadership position within Financial Services research.

If you’d like to explore confidentially, please message me directly.

Insight Manager – Brand and Market.

      • £65,000
A nationally recognised consumer brand is elevating its Insight function from reporting into true commercial partnership — and this hire will be central to that shift. Insight shouldn’t just explain performance. It should shape it. I’m partnering with a globally recognised consumer brand that’s elevating its Insight function from reporting into true commercial partnership.
      • The Role

        This isn’t a tracker-management role.

        It’s a strategic diagnosis role.

If you’re an Insight Manager who connects brand perception, pricing, competitor behaviour and commercial performance — and turns that into decisions — this will be of interest.

      • The Remit

You’ll sit within a Strategy & Innovation environment, partnering across Marketing, Commercial Finance and Operations.

        The remit includes:

        • Diagnosing performance issues — not just reporting them
        • Connecting brand tracking, market share and pricing data into a clear narrative
        • Leading ad hoc qual & quant research end-to-end
        • Building compelling outputs that influence action
        • Challenging thinking when the data tells a different story

You’ll contribute to major planning cycles and help raise the bar for how insight drives growth across the business.

      • What they're looking for:

        I’m looking for:

        • 5+ years in insight, analytics or market strategy within a consumer-facing environment
        • Strong experience with brand health tracking (e.g. YouGov, Savanta or similar)
        • Comfort working across market, pricing and competitor data (e.g. Circana or equivalent)
        • Proven experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders
        • A commercial mindset — you understand how perception links to performance

This role will suit someone who wants to operate as a true commercial partner — not just an insight provider.

You’ll be trusted to do what many analytics roles promise but rarely deliver: own the thinking, not just the outputs. This is a role for someone who enjoys curiosity over templates, experimentation over black boxes, and collaboration over working in isolation. You’ll work on genuinely bespoke projects, have the freedom to try new approaches (including AI and unstructured data), and see your analysis directly influence real decisions.

                  • The Company

The client is a strategy, innovation and design consultancy where consultancy is the heartbeat of the business. Data and analytics are central to how they help clients navigate complex challenges and make confident choices. With a small, highly capable analytics team embedded into consulting work, this is an environment where technical excellence, clear communication and practical impact matter more than shiny buzzwords. You’ll also work across two closely linked consultancies, giving you variety and exposure without corporate sprawl.

                  • The Day-To-Day

🔍 Translate business and strategy questions into the right analytical approaches

📈 Design and deliver bespoke analytics using R (Python a bonus)

🧠 Work with survey data – segmentation, tracking, driver analysis, choice-based modelling

🤝 Partner closely with consultants and researchers, shaping projects from start to finish

🗣️ Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

🚀 Contribute to internal innovation, tools and ways of working

Roughly 75% of your time will be client delivery, with the rest spent on development, experimentation and IP.

                  • The Ideal Candidate

You’ll have 3–5 years’ experience in analytics or research within a consulting-style environment. You enjoy problem-solving from first principles, not delivering off-the-shelf solutions. You’re confident with R, comfortable with data, and genuinely curious about analytics, data science and AI. Most importantly, you like explaining the “so what” and working closely with others to make insights land.

                      • Develop frameworks and storylines that land with senior stakeholders
                      • Produce high-quality decks (charts, narrative, recommendations)
                      • Support and increasingly lead workshops / stakeholder sessions
                      • Contribute to proposals and business growth alongside delivery

                    • The Ideal Candidate

                      You’ll likely have:

                      • 3+ years in FMCG and/or marketing/strategy consulting
                      • Strong consulting fundamentals (analysis, research, interviewing, charting, storytelling)
                      • Confidence facilitating and leading client conversations (or very close to it)
                      • A pragmatic, insight-led style (not overly “creative brand strategy”)
                      • Enjoyment of consulting pace + variety… and ambition to grow fast
